Tesseract Initiative - Computer Vision Workshop

  • Starfish Mission 1535 Mission Street San Francisco, CA, 94103 United States (map)

Come learn about computer vision with this hands-on, robotics-oriented workshop! You'll collaborate with other participants to work on ways to detect a given object against arbitrary backgrounds and from different perspectives using various AI-driven and traditional computer vision techniques.
Intended for high school students who are interested in learning more about computer vision. No prior experience is needed.

This workshop is presented by Tesseract Initiative, a group started by local FIRST Robotics students, alumni, and mentors to design accessible STEAM workshops, events, projects, and opportunities revolving around creativity, computation, community, and collaboration.

FIRST Robotics Competition is an exciting international robotics program bringing together teams of high schoolers with guidance from volunteer adult mentors to assemble not only industrial-sized robots - in just 6 weeks - that they then use to compete in sports-like challenges at venues all around the world, but also the marketing, funding, and project management needed to keep it all going, giving them valuable skills to take into their college and professional lives. FIRST is not directly affiliated with, nor an endorser of, our programs. We are, however, vastly grateful for all we’ve learned from our participation in theirs!
